Adi Jambava
Adi Jambava, reportedly also known as Padmajatiyavaru, Matangas and Begaras, is a tribe and madiga found in Karnataka state, India. They are a low caste and are referred to as Harijans.〔Fuchs, Stephen, (t the bottom of Indian society: the Harijan and other low castes ), 1981, Munshiram Manoharlal〕〔(Memoir, Issue 18 ) Anthropological Survey of India, 1973, page 194〕 They believed to be descendants of Jambavantha. This hilly mountain tribe worship Adi Parashakti, Shiva, Matangi and Maramma〔 and, as remembrance of Jambavanthas, they grow long beards and hair, wear ochre turbans, wear ashes and a horizontal shape on their foreheads known as addagandha. ==References==
